A year ago we suddenly became a family of five. And a crazy year it has been! – Which is why I didn’t get around to start up this webpage until 2015, although it had been brewing on my laptop for a while.
But here goes. If you know your multiples and/or Latin (and are sensitive to subheads), you’ll already be aware, that Man and I are blessed with what is generally referred to as “identical triplets”, namely monochorionic triamniotic triplets. In our case, three boys, spontaneously conceived, and darn cute. As identical triplets are a pretty rare occurrence, there isn’t a whole lot of material available on the subject. Something I sorely lacked and looked for during my high-risk pregnancy.
This page partly aims at making a small contribution towards filling this gap, by sharing my own turbulent, yet mostly positive experiences. But it also aims at promoting general knowledge of multiples to a wider audience, as well as all-round toddler-relevant info, and arts and crafts-projects. Last but not least, as the title indicates, this is an illustrated page. I am, apart from being a mother of three and a currently unemployed university graduate, a freelance illustrator and artist (yesyes, I do take commissions!) It is my goal to illustrate all relevant posts on this page, with anything from two minute doodles, over etchings, to oil-portraits (should a glorious time again arise, where I’ll have the time to pursue that last mentioned endeavor.)
This just about covers it! If you are curious to know more, there’s more details below. If not – I hope you’ll enjoy exploring this page, and please feel free to drop me a line with any questions, queries or feedback. Oh! And pleeease like the Facebook page <3

About us
Our sons, A, F and K, are spontaneously conceived identical triplets. They shared a placenta, had their own individual sacs, and were born in August 2014, at week 30+6, and weighing 1500g a piece. We’ve been very fortunate, and today we have big and healthy boys, despite the rough start they had in life. We live in Copenhagen, Denmark, (in a tiny fourth-floor apartment, no elevator and no car, but do our best to make it work) in a ground-floor, two-bedroom, apartment. My hubby – whom I’ll refer to as either Man or Beasty – is from Iceland, and is the world’s best daddy. He’s been with the boys as much as I have from the very beginning, stayed with us at the NICU, and subsequently became a stay at home dad throughout the first year. In other words, we have been very privileged, that we were two to care for our tiny cubs, and benefit from living in a welfare-state, that allows for opportunities like this.
About illustrations
I’ve chosen to do an illustrated page for several reasons. Partly to get started again in this field, which I have sorely neglected while writing my thesis and raising my infants; partly because I don’t want to take advantage of the fact, that my boys are too small to articulate the word “no”, let alone veto any pictures I might else have chosen to post (there will be the occasional photo, but non too intimate); partly to have an excuse to draw in an otherwise busy day-to-day-life; and finally because illustrations are neat. Drawing, printmaking and painting have been dear to me as long as I remember, and I have three years of formal training in Fine Arts, a path I pursued before doing my MA. in Philosophy and Art history.
The illustrations on this page will differ from the artwork I normally do in several aspects. As it is neither meant to be sold nor exhibited, I’ll probably do some experimenting with various styles (and with various results!), and the quality will vary as well, ranging from two-minute sketches to much more elaborate pieces. There might also be discrepancies from time to time, between the posting of a text, and of the corresponding image. I don’t always do them simultaneously. If you are interested in seeing a general portfolio of my work, please go to my personal page. (Link to follow – page is currently down do to maintenance)
